How to do it, step by step
- Step one leg back, hinge forward with a flat back and rest your free hand on your front knee (or on a bench).
- Hold the dumbbell with your arm straight.
- Pull your elbow toward your hip, close to your body.
- Lower with control and switch sides when done.
Common mistakes
- Twisting your torso to lift the weight.
- Pulling with your biceps instead of your back.
- Rounding your back.
