Neck pain and posture: gentle exercises
Neck pain is very common in people who spend hours in front of screens. Moving often, strengthening your upper back and minding your posture usually helps.
Do these exercises slowly and pain-free. If any of them increases discomfort or causes tingling in your arms, stop and seek advice.

Session 1
- Chin tuck: draw your chin straight back without tilting your head · 2 sets × 10 reps
- Standing shoulder blade squeeze · 2 sets × 12 reps
- Gentle side neck stretch · 2 sets × 20 s
- Doorway chest stretch · 2 sets × 30 s
- Wall push-ups · 2 sets × 10 reps
Key tips
- Screen at eye level with your elbows supported.
- Take an active break every 45 to 60 minutes.
- Avoid looking down at your phone with your head bent for long periods.
